Laura Wake-Ramos, AIA, NCARB, DBIA, is a licensed architect and Design Manager with Hensel Phelps, bringing more than a decade of experience across design and construction. Her professional background spans collaborative design, high-pressure project environments, and the leadership and mentorship of multidisciplinary teams. Laura currently serves as a 2024–2026 At-Large Representative on the AIA Strategic Council, where she participates in the Neuroarchitecture Study Group, and previously served as Chair of the AIA Project Delivery Knowledge Community.
Laura's interest in sustainable performance and well-being grew from firsthand experience navigating demanding professional environments while pursuing endurance athletics and recovering from complex lower-body injuries. As an Ironman 70.3 finisher, marathon runner, Ragnar Relay participant, coach, and mentor, she became deeply interested in the relationship between physical resilience, nervous system regulation, and long-term performance. These experiences shaped her belief that true success is not achieved through constant output, but through practices that support restoration, adaptability, and resilience.
To deepen her understanding of these principles, Laura has completed extensive training in movement and healing modalities. These include 200HR Yoga Certification; 300HR Yoga Certification in progress; Yin Yoga Certification, Restorative Yoga Certification, Pranayama Certification, Trauma‑Informed Yoga Certification, Somatic Healing Certification, Sound Healing with Crystal Bowls Certification, and Psychoneuroimmunology. She integrates these evidence-informed practices into her own life and professional leadership approach to support sustainable performance, well-being, and personal growth.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with family and friends, painting, singing, hiking, traveling, gardening, and staying active through yoga and triathlon.
